European Court of Auditors calls on EU institutions to strengthen their ethical rules

The Council, the Commission and Parliament have put in place generally adequate ethical frameworks, "although there is room for improvement", the European Court of Auditors said on Friday 19 July.

The auditors also noted in this special report on the ethical frameworks of the EU institutions that the Council "does not have, with the exception of the President of the European Council, a common ethical framework to govern the activities of the representatives of the Member States". The...
