On Thursday 18 July in the morning, on the sidelines of the European Parliament's plenary session in Strasbourg, after lengthy negotiations and several postponements, the Group of the European United Left/Nordic Green Left (GUE/NGL) in the European Parliament finally elected its presidency for the next two and a half years, by consensus.
