Commission decides to maintain anti-dumping duty on Chinese ceramic kitchenware

Since 15 July, the EU has again applied an anti-dumping duty on imports of ceramic tableware and kitchenware from China.

The rates of the definitive anti-dumping duty applicable range from 13.1% to 36.1%, with a weighted average duty rate of 17.9%.

In May 2018, the Commission initiated an expiry review of the anti-dumping duties on these goods since 2013, a review following a request from the European Federation of the Industries of Earthenware and China Tableware and Ornamental Ware.

After concluding this investigation, it appears that the expiry of the anti-dumping measures would lead to the continuation or recurrence of dumping and to the continuation or recurrence of injury to the EU industry.

The European Commission has therefore decided to maintain the anti-dumping measures applicable to imports of ceramic tableware and kitchenware from China.

Excluded from this decision are condiment and spice mills, coffee grinders, knife sharpeners, knife sharpeners, kitchen tools for cutting, grinding, scraping, slicing, grating and peeling, and pizza stones, all made of ceramic.
