15/07/2019 (Agence Europe) – The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, inaugurated the EU delegation in Kuwait, the 142nd EU delegation, on Sunday 14 July. According to Ms Mogherini, this new delegation "is first and foremost a sign of how close the European Union and Kuwait have become in these years". "At a time of regional and global tensions, Kuwait is a voice of wisdom and a force for peace" she added. In a statement, the European External Action Service said that the delegation would contribute to strengthening bilateral relations through enhanced political dialogue and economic and sectoral cooperation, in particular in support of 'Kuwait Vision 2035'. The delegation is the third in a Gulf country and it will also be responsible for relations with Qatar. (CG)
