15/07/2019 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission published on Monday 15 July its report on EU competition policy for 2018. In particular, it presents the main decisions of the institution, as well as legislative developments in the field of competition. Among last year's key moments in this area, it should be recalled that the Commission imposed a (new) record fine of €4.34 billion on Google on 18 July in the Android case (see EUROPE 12065/1). On the legislative side, the former Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament signed an interinstitutional agreement on strengthening the resources given to the national competition authorities in May 2018 (see EUROPE 12030/27).
