EU tax revenues remain high compared with other advanced economies. This is one of the conclusions of the Commission's 2019 report on tax trends in the EU, published on Friday, 28 June.
In 2017, EU tax revenues accounted for 39% of GDP, almost 2 percentage points higher than in 2009. The report points out that this is much higher than in the United States, Japan, New Zealand, Canada, Australia, Switzerland or South Korea.
