Member States' ambassadors will vote on delegated act ‘Deployment of cooperative intelligent transport systems’ on 4 July

26/06/2019 (Agence Europe)Member States' ambassadors to the EU will have to approve or object, on 4 July next, to the delegated act ‘Deployment of cooperative intelligent transport systems’, a source told EUROPE on Wednesday 26 June. Indeed, at the end of the meeting of the ‘Transport, intermodal issues and networks’ group on 26 June, the issue of approval or objection to the act was still open. On 14 June, the Legal Service of the Council of the European Union expressed doubts and questions about this regulation (see EUROPE 12276/14). For the act to be subject to an objection in the EU Council, a majority of 21 Member States representing 65% of the population is required. Before the opinion of the Legal Service, this majority did not seem to have been reached. For its part, Parliament gave its agreement on 17 April (see EUROPE 12238/6). EUROPE will continue to follow this. (CG)
