EU Council adopts multiannual fish management plan for Mediterranean

06/06/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 6 June, the EU Council of Ministers formally adopted the Regulation relating to the multi-annual plan for the management of fish stocks in the western Mediterranean (see EUROPE B12262A10). The plan is based on a fishing effort management scheme to gradually achieve stock management (by 1 January 2025 at the latest) in accordance with maximum sustainable yield (MSY) objectives.
