EU Council approves legislation on EU/Guinea-Bissau fisheries agreement

06/06/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 6 June, the EU Council of Ministers formally adopted the legislation relating to conclusion of the new fisheries agreement between the EU and the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, which covers the years 2019-2024 (see EUROPE B12233A8). About 50 EU vessels targeting demersal species (including cephalopods and crustaceans) as well as tuna and small pelagic species will benefit from the agreement, which was initialled in November 2018.
