The European Commission adopted on Tuesday 14 May an implementing decision to harmonise the 26 GHz pioneer band to facilitate the deployment of fifth generation (5G) mobile networks.
With this decision, Member States may impose harmonised technical conditions to allow the use of this frequency band for 5G systems by 31 December 2020, in accordance with the European Electronic Communications Code (see EUROPE B11973A7).
