Registration of European Citizens' Initiative to strengthen rights of 'uberised' workers

27/03/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 26 March, the European Commission decided to register a European Citizens' Initiative (ECI) to strengthen the rights of 'uberised' workers. The organisers of this ECI "#NewRightsNow" ask the Commission to create an obligation for digital platforms to pay a guaranteed minimum income to 'freelancers' or 'self-employed' people who regularly work for them.
