European Parliament/EU Council 'common understanding' on post-2020 LIFE programme confirmed by MEPs and Member states

A procedural step was taken on Thursday 21 March towards extending the LIFE programme, the only EU financial instrument specifically dedicated to nature, biodiversity, climate action and clean energy, beyond 2020. 

The European Parliament's Environment Committee confirmed (34 votes in favour, 1 against, 3 abstentions) the 'common understanding' on the post-2020 LIFE programme, resulting from negotiations between the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU and the European Parliament...
