EU sanctions eight senior officials and military personnel responsible for escalation of tensions in Azov Sea

The EU adopted by written procedure, on Thursday 14 March with publication in the Official Journal of the EU on 15 March, sanctions against eight Russian officials and military personnel (see EUROPE B12204A17) for having had a role, at the end of November, in actions that “prevented Ukrainian vessels from accessing their coastline on the Sea of Azov, thereby compromising the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine and compromising Ukraine's security”.
