Annual inflation rate was 1.5% in euro area and 1.6% in EU in February

Annual inflation reached 1.5% and 1.6% in the euro area and the European Union in February, respectively, an increase of 0.1 percentage points compared to the rates recorded the previous month (see EUROPE B12200A10), according to figures published by the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat) on Friday 15 March. 

There was also an increase in this rate compared to February 2018, when it was 1.1% in the euro area and 1.4% in the European Union.
