05/03/2019 (Agence Europe) – Michael Detjen (S&D, Germany) asked in a written question to the European Commission last week about the application of the provisions of Form A1 (which proves a worker's affiliation to a national social security) in the event of a business trip to visit other trading partners. The MEP also wondered whether there are guidelines establishing criteria to differentiate between business travel and the posting of workers. The Member hopes to receive a reply from the European Commission stating that no Form A1 is required for business travel. The subject is all the more thorny as it is currently being discussed in the European Parliament/Council negotiations on the Regulation for the coordination of social security systems (see EUROPE 12206).
