04/03/2019 (Agence Europe) – As announced by EUROPE (see EUROPE 12203), on Monday 4 March, the Council of the EU extended the freezing of the assets of twelve persons identified as responsible for the misappropriation of Ukrainian state funds or guilty of the abuse of office causing a loss to Ukrainian public funds for one year, until 6 March 2020. Among them is former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. “Restrictive measures against one person have not been extended”, the Council said in its statement. This one person is Andriy Klyuyev, the former head of the former president’s administration. The legal acts related to this decision will be published in the Official Journal of the EU on Tuesday 5 March 2019. (CG)
