04/03/2019 (Agence Europe) – As announced by EUROPE (see EUROPE 12203), on Monday 4 March, the Council of the EU added seven Syrian government ministers to the list of persons and entities subject to restrictive measures against the Syrian regime and its supporters. These ministers were appointed last November. With this decision, 277 persons are subject to a visa ban and assets freeze because they are found responsible for the violent repression of the civilian population in Syria, benefiting from or supporting the regime's policies and/or being linked to such persons. 72 entities are also subject to an asset freeze due to the situation in Syria. The legal acts related to this decision were published in the Official Journal of the EU on 4 March. (CG)
