18/02/2019 (Agence Europe) – The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) and the Chinese Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) pleaded on Friday 15 February in Brussels for closer cooperation and signed a cooperation agreement for this purpose. Future collaboration between the two regions will focus on three areas: - vehicles operating with new energy sources and the development of the infrastructure necessary for developing these alternative propulsion vehicles; - the widespread introduction of connected and automated driving; - emission standards and testing for CO2 and pollutants. The two associations also intend to join forces at the global level to promote international harmonization of automotive standards and regulations, the statement said. (PH)
