New rules on short-stay visas in EU linked with cooperation of third countries on readmission of their nationals

The new rules for issuing short-stay visas (up to 90 days over a period of 180 days) in the European Union to nationals of more than 100 third countries, agreed by Council and European Parliament negotiators on Tuesday 29 January (see EUROPE 12182), establish a link with third countries' cooperation on the readmission of their nationals.
