Romanian Presidency of Council excludes international firearms trade from scope of future Wistleblowers Directive

The Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU has followed the position of the majority of Member States on the Wistleblowers Directive and has maintained a single legislative act, including tax issues, according to a compromise proposal of 14 January from the Presidency, consulted by EUROPE on Monday 21 January. However, the Presidency does not seem to want to keep the legal basis to cover the international firearms trade.
