Search for a political agreement on reducing CO2 emissions from heavy vehicles will dominate Council meeting on 20 December

Following COP 24, the last meeting of EU Environment Ministers under the outgoing Austrian Presidency will be dominated by a climate issue on Thursday 20 December in Brussels. 

The Austrian Minister for Sustainability and Tourism, Elisabeth Köstinger, who will chair the session, is keen to reach a political agreement (a general approach) on the May 2018 proposal for a regulation establishing, for the first time, CO2 emission reduction standards for heavy duty vehicles after 2020.
