14/12/2018 (Agence Europe) – In a joint statement issued on Thursday 13 December, three organisations active in the railway sector, i.e. the Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies (CER), the European Rail Infrastructure Managers (EIM), and the European Rail Supply Industry Association (UNIFE), expressed their satisfaction with the European Parliament vote in plenary session on Wednesday 12 December on the design of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) for the period 2021-2027 (see EUROPE 12158). "Rail plays a crucial role in the EU’s economic growth and completion of the Single Market [...] The Connecting Europe Facility will thus strengthen rail as the backbone of sustainable mobility in Europe." wrote the organisations.
