10/12/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 10 December, the European Commission approved an aid measure that the French authorities are planning to put in place for the construction of an offshore wind farm not far from Dunkirk. This fleet should have a capacity of 400 to 600 megawatts. This aid will take the form of additional remuneration following a competitive call for tenders. Noting that the measure would contribute to the French and European objectives of producing energy from renewable sources without significantly distorting competition in the energy sector, the Commission considered that it was in conformity with the rules of Union law on State aid, in particular the guidelines on State aid for environmental protection and energy.
