Lifetime of two Belgian nuclear power plants may be extended for overriding reasons of public interest, according to Advocate General

Even if the Belgian law extending the lifetime of Doel 1 and 2 nuclear power plants by ten years was adopted without an environmental assessment, it is not impossible to maintain the effects for reasons of security of supply, said Advocate General Juliane Kokott in conclusions delivered on Thursday 29 November (Case C-411/17).
