Mr Tajani expects Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU of first Semester 2019 to make progress on Dublin reform and MFF

23/10/2018 (Agence Europe)European Parliament President Antonio Tajani expressed his wish on 23 October that the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU, from 1 January to 30 June 2019, would allow progress to be made in the reform of the Dublin Regulation and on the multiannual financial framework (MFF) 2021-2027. "I ask the Romanian Presidency for good results on the Dublin reform. And it is important to pave the way for a good solution on the multiannual financial framework, probably before the European elections. This would be a good message for European citizens”, he explained at a press briefing with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis in Strasbourg (see other news). Mr Tajani recalled that the European elections will be held during this presidency. For Mr Iohannis, the Presidency will have to deal with many issues, including Brexit, the MFF and migration. (CG and LT)
