01/10/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 28 September, the European Commission published further guidelines for European economic operators in the context of Brexit, this time concerning the application of Regulation 648/2004 on detergents. In essence, the Commission explains that economic operators on EU territory, until then “distributors” of a European product, will become “importers” after Brexit, if the product is manufactured in the United Kingdom – with all the consequences this entails. The Commission gives recommendations on labelling changes and on laboratories for detergent testing. To consult the guidelines go to: https://bit.ly/2zILHsA. (PH)
