25/09/2018 (Agence Europe) – Although the first draft compromise on the revision of the 2008/96/EC directive on road infrastructure safety management appears to have been rather well received by the national delegations during the meetings of the land transport working party of the Council of the European Union (see EUROPE 12098), several questions still remain pending and a second compromise looks likely to be put on the table by the Austrian Presidency of the Council. The question of the scope of application and several points on the annexes are also expected to be the subject of further discussions. It should be recalled that this debate is part of the Commission proposal of 17 May last and is an integral part of the third mobility package (see EUROPE 12022). (LT)
