21/09/2018 (Agence Europe) – In Brussels on Thursday 20 September, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and Oman’s Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah signed a cooperation agreement between the European External Action Service (EEAS) and the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The EEAS release states the agreement “will provide a basis for an enhanced political dialogue and strengthened cooperation on sectoral areas of mutual interest”. During their meeting, Mogherini and the Omani minister also discussed regional matters “of mutual interest”, especially the crisis in the Gulf, Iran, Iraq, the Middle East peace process and the war in Yemen, as well as the need to renew the international community’s support to the UN-led process.
