EU satisfied with Croatian system for monitoring goods in transit

28/08/2018 (Agence Europe)The Croatian system for monitoring transiting goods operates properly, according to a report by the EU's Food and Veterinary Office (FVO) published on 27 August. It describes the outcome of an audit carried out in Croatia from 23 to 29 January 2018 to assess the system of official controls on consignments in transit en route to the EU market.  The audit says the competent veterinary and customs authorities cooperate and coordinate closely when controlling transiting goods. The arrangements in place are, with the sole exception of beeswax, sufficient to ensure adequate traceability, note the experts. The EU is also satisfied with the specific conditions for transit via the territory of Croatia of products originating in Bosnia and Herzegovina. (LC)
