20/08/2018 (Agence Europe) – In the wake of 'Dieselgate' and the European Commission's recent revelations on the false emissions declarations as part of the worldwide harmonised light vehicles test procedures, WLTP, (see EUROPE 12070) the Transport & Environment (T&E) NGO is taking the lead in setting up its own test system for motor vehicle emissions. According to an advertisement published on Tuesday 7 August, T&E, which calls for the rapid expansion of green transport, also intends to recruit a professional with experience in emissions testing for a two-year period by the end of this year in order to set up protocols to identify the environmental effects of vehicle emissions and to supervise approving results. T&E wants to combine tests in real conditions and laboratory tests, a little like the EU's model (see EUROPE 12014). (PH)
