In Strasbourg on Tuesday 12 June, the European Parliament will underline the importance of collecting sufficient data on recreational fisheries, and on maritime recreational fisheries in particular, in order to “properly evaluate the total fishing mortality levels for all stocks” (see EUROPE 12021). It will take a stance on the inclusion, if necessary, of recreational fishing in the multiannual management plans for fish species.
