Commission proposes EU initiative to stop decline of wild pollinators

On Friday 1 June, the European Commission presented a raft of measures to be implemented, initially, by end 2020, to tackle the alarming decline of wild pollinators such as bees, bumblebees, butterflies and other insects threatened with extinction.

In so doing, the Commission answers calls from the European Parliament and Council of the EU to protect pollinating insects and their habitats and to slow their decline.  Depending on progress made, it will decide, in 2020, whether further action...
