Appointment of Pedro Sanchez hailed

01/06/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 1 June, the president of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, expressed ‘confidence in the Spanish government to continue contributing in a constructive manner to a stronger more united fairer EU.’  The new Spanish government will be headed by Pedro Sanchez.  The President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, said the appointment of Mr Sánchez ‘comes at a challenging time for Europe. European unity is now more needed than ever.’...
