16/05/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 16 May, MEPs at the budgets committee (BUDG) adopted (24 votes for, 2 against, with no abstentions), the report by José Manuel Fernandes (EPP, Portugal) for actioning the European Union Solidarity Fund (EUSF) to the tune of €104.2 million to help Greece, Spain, France and Portugal. These member states suffered major natural disasters in 2017: an earthquake in Greece, forest fires in Portugal and Spain and Hurricanes in France. Portugal is expected to receive €50.6 million, Spain, €3.2 million, France €49 million and Greece €1.3 million. The vote will take place on the 30th of major and plenary session.
