16/05/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 16 May, the President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani, was pleased to inform MEPs that the founder of Facebook had agreed to clarify to MEPs “certain questions linked to personal data use” by the social network in light of the Cambridge Analytica scandal. He explained that Mark Zuckerberg coming to Parliament in Brussels could take place "next week". Given that there is no public meeting on the model of the speech made by Mr Zuckerberg to the US Congress, the discussions will take place with the President of the Civil Liberties Committee, the Parliament rapporteur on these questions and the leaders of the political groups. Mr Tajani also announced that a "public hearing" was being organised with representatives from Facebook and other parties on the question of personal data, with particular emphasis on the impact of social networks on processes.
