27/04/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 27 April, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini agreed with representatives of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on the importance of strengthening regular and constructive dialogue between the EU and OIC. Although Turkey's Minister for European Affairs Ömer Çelik had had called in January for a joint EU-OIC summit to be held, the European External Action Service (EEAS) press release did not make any mention of this (see EUROPE 11948). During the meeting, the two parties discussed issues of common interest, particularly the Middle East peace process, underlining "their shared commitment to a negotiated two-state solution, with Jerusalem as future capital of both states", the EEAS stated.
