16/04/2018 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission is expected to postpone its proposal on “whistleblowers” from Tuesday 17 of April to Tuesday 23 April. Several sources have informed us that this is because there are too many legislative dossiers that currently need processing. On the other hand, the dossier could possibly, despite everything, be tackled at the College of Commissioners on Tuesday 17 April. The directive was originally planned for the end of 2017 and has therefore been postponed yet again (see EUROPE 11983). According to the information we have received, this directive is not expected to take up Parliament's proposal to create a European body for whistleblowers and will be proposing a reporting system based on different stages (see EUROPE 11991).
