Jyrki Katainen says atmosphere now calmer to settle transatlantic dispute on US taxes on steel and aluminium

The European Commission is still seeking assurances of a permanent exemption for the EU from the US customs duties on imports of steel and aluminium that entered into force on 23 March and from which the EU is provisionally exempt until 1 May, but the discussion is currently"very good" and the atmosphere constructive, European Commission Vice-President for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness Jyrki Katainen stated on Tuesday 10 April.
