Oettinger seeking to provide reassurances to cities and regions represented by Cohesion Policy Alliance

In a conference focusing on the future of cohesion policy organised by members of the Cohesion Policy Alliance on Thursday 22 March, the Commissioner for the Budget, Günther Oettinger, provided assurances that budget cuts in the next cohesion policy are expected to be less than 10%, rather than around 5%. Mr Oettinger listened to the different members of the Alliance appeal for a strong cohesion policy in all European regions and stated, "I cannot guarantee that there will not be any cuts,...
