22/02/2018 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament’s special “PEST” committee responsible for shedding light on the procedure for assessing pesticides in the EU and its possible failings will hold its first meeting in Strasbourg on Monday 12 March. The date of this inaugural meeting was decided on Thursday 22 February (see EUROPE 11966). Composed of 30 members, it will proceed to electing a chairman, four deputy chairpersons and two co-rapporteurs. The nine-month time frame that the committee has for carrying out its mission, in line with the mandate entrusted to it, begins on 12 March (see EUROPE 11955). (AN)
