Air quality - Court rules against Poland for constant failure to comply with EU law

The Court has ruled.  Poland is guilty of persistent infringement of the European directive on air quality (Directive 2008/50/EC), states the EU Court of Justice in a judgement cast on Thursday 23 February (Case C-336/16).

The limit values for concentrations of PM10, the fine particulate matter that is so dangerous for human health as it penetrates deep into the lungs, have been persistently exceeded in that member state, the Court states.
