20/02/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 20 February, the EU Court of Auditors published an information paper (Auditinfo) on the production of wind and solar electricity generation in the EU, as part of its audit announced on 1 February relating to the effectiveness of support given by the EU and its member states to energy production of this kind. The paper provides information on the EU energy mix for electricity, and on the Community and national strategies relating to renewables, as well as on funding earmarked for wind and solar power under European regional and cohesion policies. It also gives details on national progress made with a view to reaching renewable energy goals by 2020.
