20/02/2018 (Agence Europe) – In its communication on the forthcoming multiannual financial framework, which was published on 15 February, the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (known by its French acronym, CCRE) calls for the next European budget to encourage gender equality. The organisation argues that the forthcoming MFF should provide support to pan-European actions aiming to promote awareness, peer learning, the exchange of information and advice and assistance in this area. The organisation also calls for the budget for the next cohesion policy not to be reduced, for shared management to be increased and the European funds to be drastically simplified.
