Controversial new Hungarian law on activities of NGOs suspected of supporting immigration

On Tuesday 13 February, the Hungarian government of Viktor Orbán submitted a controversial new law to the Parliament concerning the functioning of NGOs active in the field of migration (see also other articles in this bulletin).

This law, which is seen as a way of attacking George Soros, would allow the home affairs minister to ban NGOs in favour of immigration and “causing a national security risk”. The new law bill penalising NGOs which the government considers to support immigration...
