Federica Mogherini appoints Renate Weber head of election observation mission

High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini has appointed Renate Weber MEP (ALDE, Romania) as chief observer of the EU election observation mission for the Paraguayan general elections on 22 April.

The EU mission will be deployed at the invitation of the Paraguayan authorities and is the second (the first being in 2013) for which Weber is chief observer(see EUROPE 10809 and 10832).  A follow up mission was also deployed in 2015.
