European Commission wants to mobilise €2.1 of EGF in Germany

09/02/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 9 February, the European Commission announced a proposal to mobilise up to €2.1 of the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) to support 646 workers in Germany, laid off by the Goodyear tyre company after closure of its plant in Baden-Württemberg.  With German co-funding, the aid is estimated at €3.6 million.  This will be used to assist workers to reintegrate the labour market.  Final go-ahead must now come from the Council and the...
