EU calls for release of director of Memorial Human Rights Centre in Chechen Republic

12/01/2018 (Agence Europe) – The European Union is calling for the release of Oyub Titiev, the director of the Memorial Human Rights Centre in the Chechen Republic – an NGO created by Andreï Sakharov in 1989.  "We expect federal and regional authorities in the Russian Federation to fully observe the legal rights of Mr Titiev, in accordance with Russia's international human rights commitments, and to release him swiftly", the EEAS spokesperson stated in a press release on Thursday...
