05/01/2018 (Agence Europe) – Current MEP and former leader of the United Kingdom’s anti-Europe party UKIP, Nigel Farage, who was an ardent defender of the ‘leave’ campaign in the Brexit referendum of 23 June 2016, tweeted that he will be meeting the EU's negotiator in the Brexit talks, Michel Barnier, on Monday 8 January. Farage asked readers of his Twitter account to send in questions they would like to put to Michel Barnier. On 10 January, the Brexit negotiator will meet other players from the British ‘leave’ movement. The Brexit talks entered the second phase in mid-December following a go-ahead from Europe’s leaders. Work will first focus on the transition phase demanded by London, that the EU has set at least two years (see EUROPE 11930), followed from March onwards by work on trade relations between the two parties.
