21/11/2017 (Agence Europe) – The EU and Iran held the third meeting of the high level political dialogue in Tehran on 20 November. The two delegations, led by European External Action Service Secretary (EEAS) General Helga Schmid and Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, discussed bilateral issues such as trade, energy, the environment, migration and humanitarian issues, according to an EEAS press release. They also discussed regional issues (Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon and Afghanistan). No reference was made to the Iranian nuclear programme. In parallel, discussions on human rights were held. Schmid also attended the second EU-Iran high-level seminar on international nuclear cooperation, which took place in Isfahan on 21 November and focused on aspects of civil nuclear cooperation following the Iranian agreement.
