06/11/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 6 November, the European Commission spokesperson Margaritis Schinas condemned the shooting at First Baptist Church, Sutherland Springs in Texas. The shooting, which took place the previous day, claimed 26 lives and left 20 people wounded. It is "an unimaginably odious crime in a place of worship, a place where many people choose to find peace", Schinas said. He added that the thoughts of the EU were with the American people in this difficult time. In a press release, the spokesperson for the European External Action Service sent the EU's condolences to the authorities of Texas and the USA, and to the American people. "We wish a swift recovery to those who have been injured and affected by this attack", the press release added. (CG).
